“A superbly appointed and comfortable holiday let.
Our family of six adults and five children from two years old to thirteen were indeed fortunate to have chosen Quay House for a week’s stay in Newquay, during late July 2015. The moment that you walk in through the front door you feel completely at home and relaxed. You are met with total luxury. There are none of the hard furnishings that you would normally associate with a holiday let to make it serviceable and hard waring. All of the seating is comfortable and very good quality with magnificent carpeting in the hall way, up the stairs and through the lounge area. There are several top spec TV’s! The bedrooms were all good sized and comfortable with substantial bedding. You have all of the facilities that you could ever wish for in the kitchen and utility room including a fabulous American style fridge freezer unit. The property has a superb aspect overlooking the Gannel Estuary, this offers great walking and play opportunities – if you have a Kayak, don’t forget it! Just a short car ride or fifteen twenty minute walk into the town, or my favourite, Crantock via the foot bridge over the Gannel or the ferry. I would recommend Quay house to anyone wishing to holiday as a large group.
Fantastic House Perfect Location
We are a large family travelling from different parts of the country to enjoy a week together in Cornwall. We consisted of 1 grandad, 6 mums and dads and 4 children aged from 3 to 12 and an infant. We were delighted with the house and it served our every possible need. The space was amazing and all rooms were prepared to a high specification with bedding and towels provided and all spotlessly clean. A few things worth a mention that made it even better for us: A cream tea was left for us for our arrival consisting of fruit scones and clotted cream – a lovely touch. A fantastic little play house in the garden with plenty of toys for the children, as well as games and toys indoors. Two of the bedrooms had large en suite facilities and in addition we had a large family bathroom with a whirlpool bath – there is also a separate shower room so there were never any queues for the bathroom which was fab when trying to co-ordinate getting out of the house. We enjoyed a bar-be-que outside in the newly fitted area and that was lovely one evening – plenty of seating. The views over the Gannel were fantastic and the kids enjoyed hours on the sand splogding and just being kids flying kites and all the rest. We had a good morning out in Newquay using body boards and also enjoyed days out further afield in Padstow, Cornwall’s Crealy, Eden Project, Tintagel and Boscastle – all of our favourite places to visit and lots to offer most families. The location of the property is right on the edge of Newquay and is about 15 minute walk to the town centre although if you are going to the beach the car is a must to carry all the stuff you might need – its quite a hilly walk in places – I don’t mind this personally but if you are a little wobbly on your feet it might be an issue. I would definitely recommend this home to any visitors who will respect and treat it as their own and if we decided to holiday together in the future we will definitely hope to return to this beautiful property.

A great place to have a family holiday”
Reviewed 25 Aug 2015
We wanted a holiday residence where we could have a special holiday with all our family (4 generations!). Quay House made the holiday a very special occasion. It is situated perfectly for travelling to either Fistral or Crantock beaches and had such a lovely kitchen, dining area and living room that was perfect for us all to laze around in during those rainy Cornish days! There were 13 of us and the house still felt very spacious and the standard of décor and cleanliness was outstanding. We will be returning I am sure.
“Cousins just want to have fun ”
Reviewed 30 Apr 2016
We are a group of female cousins who live all over the country Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Leicester & Newquay who meet up once a year. Are plan was to be out and about over our weekend but Quay House was so tranquil with a beautiful view we spent most of our time at the house chilling out. The Balcony was an amazing place to sit, enjoy the beautiful weather and watch the horse riders going along The Gannel. The house was very well equipped with every thing we needed. Thank you for a great weekend retreat.

“This place is MINT!!!”
Reviewed 29 Apr 2018
We were a group of mates who stayed down for the weekend and everyone was so impressed with the house and it’s location. When we weren’t sitting on the balcony loving the view we were down on the beach that is literally a stones throw away. The beach is tidal but the tide seemed to be out 90% of the time and it comes in slowly so you’ve loads of time. The beach aside, the house is mint, loads of space so even if it does turn wet (which I doubt it does in Cornwall) you could chill in the kitchen OR the living room and it wouldn’t feel like you’re on top of each other. There is plenty of bed space and the rooms are clean, light and airy. The fridge is massive and (for us any way) there was the delight of a cream tea on arrival. The neighbors seemed really nice, and there is even use of an amazing bbq and wonderful fire pit as well. Once we found the back way into town (turn left out of the house) it was a 20min walk into the town centre, but with a bbq, beach and fire pit you wont need town. I cannot WAIT to come back next year and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Communication with the owner was excellent and we had no issues or quibbles. TLDR: book this place, everything about it is mint. One helpful hint, the mugs are kept in the draw under the cutlery.

“Superb multi-generation accommodation in a great location for a great holiday.”

Quay House is ideally positioned looking out over the Gannel with ever changing views. Easy access to the coastal path and beach below gave opportunity for walks with and without the pushchairs and space for the grandchildren to run off steam. The house is well equipped and we were able to make full use of the garden BBQ and outdoor seating. The layout of the house and its facilities were ideal for our three generation party of 12 including a new baby.A short taxi hop into town for the adults gave easy access to some great restaurants in the evening (and baby sitting for Nanny and Grandpa. The toys, TVs and safety gate were much appreciated. Surfing on Fistral beach was great fun and being so close meant we could get parked up with ease.

NEW YEAR BREAK
Please do not hesitate to book this property! We stayed for three nights over new year. It’s enormous! There are ample beds for a big family, large amounts of entertaining space and stunning views across the estuary. The property is set up to entertain children; with lego, a pirate ship and even puppets. The kitchen is perfect for preparing a spread and we enjoyed the wine fridge and balcony. Our favourite evening was spent gathered around the fire pit; toasting sausages and marshmallows whilst charging our fizz flutes. The area is perfect for amateur photographers like myself. I achieved some beautiful shots on a walk around the estuary… make sure you take your wellies. There are not many amenities in proximity so you may want to consider this is if there is anyone in your group who struggles to walk or doesn’t drive. We didn’t even bother venturing into Newquay as the house was so endearing that we didn’t want to leave it. We cannot wait to book again… ASAP! Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

“An amazing family house, situated in a peaceful location.”

With 4 young children & 5 adults to cater for, getting the right kind of house is so important. Quay House, didn’t disappoint. A perfect layout, ideal for entertaining & giving everyone the space they need. The house was spotless & with all the expected mod cons (Sky, fast broadband, Bose music systems etc) this really was the ideal house. This is the first review I’ve ever written because I felt it necessary to share. The owners have been very helpful & friendly too. A definite 5 star!!

“Excellent house, location and overall amazing”
Reviewed 10 Jul 2016
We come to Cornwall every year, this was our 1st time at Quay house. We were so impressed – the house is quite simply amazing…. It modern, spacious and perfect equipped. We had 2 families staying and wow we had the best time. Plenty of space to all eat together and socialise and plenty of space to escape and just chill! It has everything toys for the kids, books to read, and all of the amenities are of a great standard (even down to things like hoovers, pots and pans etc) it doesn’t have the feel of a holiday home it had the feel of a home and that is the best decription it’s homely and welcoming and just lovely. Location wise perfect for getting out and about but situated in a really relaxed and lovely spot at the end of a quiet road. The view is fantastic and well great time had by all. Top notch and highly recommended.
