This large, detached house is a four-bedroom, self-catering holiday property based on a Spanish-style villa, set in a select residential area of Newquay.

This stunning house benefits from a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area which makes it the ideal place for families sharing or friends getting together.

An inner glazed door leads directly into a light and airy sitting room with comfortable lounge seating facing a gas fire, a large flat screen television and sliding patio doors leading to the garden.

From the lounge, an open-plan staircase leads to the first floor. In one corner of the lounge, an inner lobby gives access to ground-floor double bedroom and a shower-room with hand basin and WC. There is also a second small kitchen which can be accessed from the double bedroom and the main kitchen. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Enjoy the enclosed back garden with a summer BBQ and a chilled glass of beer, and when the sun goes down you can wine and dine the night away at anyone of a number of acclaimed restaurants including Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at Watergate Bay, or the locals popular choice Lewinnick Lodge with stunning views of the Atlantic coastline.

For a more informal dining experience, Newquay boasts many cafes, restaurants and bars — all within walking distance.

There is ample parking on the driveway for several cars.

The property is located just a 15-minute walk from Lusty Glaze beach, and within a 10-minute walk of Newquay town centre. Tolcarne Beach and Great Western are also in the area so you couldn’t be better positioned to explore whether in or out of the water.

With miles of spectacular beaches and rugged coastline, Newquay is the ideal playground for those seeking water based activities from surfing at the legendary Fistral Beach, to rock climbing and coasteering at the Lusty Glaze Adventure Centre.

Those who prefer to keep their feet dry are also spoilt for choice over which beach to relax on and soak up the magnificent Cornish scenery.

The award winning Newquay zoo and Trenance boating lake are a 5-minute walk away along with a tennis centre which boasts both indoor and outdoor courts. Waterworld with its 25-metre pool, fun-pool and slides is in the same location.

Enjoyed our stay at Swallowtails! Plenty of parking for three cars and could accommodate more. Lovely spacious garden and ample garden furniture. Large well equipped kitchen plus another smaller kitchen! There is a big living area with plenty of seating for 10 people. Peter's welcome pack of scones and cream is a nice start to the holiday and the wine is much appreciated!

We arrived early and Pete the owner allowed us to check in early, which was much appreciated after a long drive. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Pete showed us around the house with attention to detail. The house was fully equipped with everything that you need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The added bonus is having bedding supplied, so it wasn't any problems having to bring your own towels. The welcome pack of jam, scones, clotted cream, bread, butter, tea, coffee and milk was a kind touch. Pete also phones you a day or two before arrival and asks what type of scone you would prefer and which type of wine you would like too, yes wine!! Ample parking and garden area to relax in after a busy day on the beach or site seeing. The house is situation in a quiet area but not too far away from the beach, which is just a 10 minutes walk away. 5 mins walk away is a play area and tennis courts.


4TH VISIT HOME FROM HOME

This is our 4th stay at Swallowtails and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As previously mentioned it is an ideal location for the town, beaches, zoo and swimming pool. The house is immaculate and Pete (owner) rings beforehand to ask what bread and wine we would like. This, together with tea, coffee, sugar, butter, jam and clotted cream are all very much appreciated. Nothing is too much trouble. Pete replaced a lightbulb for us within a few hours of us notifying him. He is a really friendly and helpful man. He maintains the property and each year makes improvements to the house. It really is a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped property in a fantastic location!

STAYED OCTOBER 2017

Stayed here in early October as a family of six (five adults and a small child). We found that it ticked all the boxes for us - nice quiet location, a 5-10 minute walk from the town and beach, well maintained, clean, well equipped and with plenty of space. Not that we used it but there is also a well kept garden with lots of chairs, loungers, fire-pit and barbeque. Pete, the owner, was very helpful throughout our stay. We were contacted a couple of weeks before arrival and he asked what kind of scones we liked, whether we wanted white or brown bread and if we preferred red, white or rose wine, so he could match the welcome pack to our preferences. On arrival the welcome pack was waiting - two bottles of red wine, loaf of brown bread, fresh scones, clotted cream, jam and milk - what a nice touch! When we arrived the house was empty but Pete had already visited to switch the lights on and leave some music playing to help make the place homely for our arrival. He arrived about ten minutes after our arrival, giving us just enough time to unload the car, and went through everything we needed to know. He was always at hand on the end of a phone to answer the few queries that cropped up during our stay. Couldn't have asked for more from the owner. If we visit Newquay again we will definitely stay here

STAYED JULY 2017

My husband and I took six 16 year olds for a weeks holiday. Booked this house as it looked like it had all we were looking for. It was perfect. The boys had the 3 rooms and bathroom upstairs and my husband and I had the double bedroom and bathroom downstairs. There was everything we needed in the house... and I mean everything. A fabulous location as only 10 minutes to beach and only a little further to town. So boys able to walk themselves in and around beaches and town as often as they liked. Pete the owner is absolutely lovely and couldnt do enough for us. The cream tea left for all of us was a real treat on arrival. He also left us bread milk tea coffee sugar and 2 bottles of wine! Not many places spoil you like this. I highly recommend this property. We loved it. Thanks so much Pete for having us all and for your thoughtfulness.

Just returned from a lovely week at Swallowtails. The location is perfect giving easy access to local shops and beach which is only a ten minute walk. The accommodation is spacious and well maintained with ample parking for cars. Very highly recommended for a large family or group of adults.

Stayed here every yr since 2012. Lovely, well equipped large home with beautiful big garden with sun loungers and plenty of private off road parking. Pete the lovely owner of this beautiful house is always on hand if you need him. He has over the yrs made improvements to the house, the latest being to the bedroom balcony with new glass railings and new patio doors. He has also added a glass paneled railing to the open plan stairs making it not only safer but looks stylish too. Always met with 2 bottles of wine, scones, jam, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and butter and of course a friendly smile. The house is close to Newquay shops, zoo, park, swimming baths and beach. The house is on 2 levels, the upstairs having 3 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, 2 with 2 single beds in each, there also being a single futon bed in one) and a lovely family bathroom with shower over jakoozi bath. There is a double bedroom downstairs with it's own bathroom and kitchen wich was ideal for my elderly parents. There is also a second main kitchen/dining room and very spacious lounge. Stayed here with husband, parents and 3 children. Woulds definitely recommend this home

my husband and I enjoyed a fantastic week here during May half term along with our 2 children and our close friends who also have 2 children. Swallowtails was plenty big enough for us all with all 4 bedrooms having ample space. The house was well equip with appliances ensuring we did not need to eat out everyday. The house is located in a fantastic part of Newquay, only a short 10 minute walk from the town centre and beaches. and only a stones throw from the Zoo, crazy golf and Trenance Gardens. I would recommend this holiday rental to any large family or people wanting to share with friends. The owner was extremely welcoming and even met us on our arrival even though it was the early hours. if returning to Newquay at a later date I would not hesitate to book this property again.

Just returned from our stay at Swallowtails, there were nine of us in total, this property has a lovely large living, dining and kitchen area which is ideal for a large family. The owner Pete met us on arrival and spent time telling us all we needed to know about the house and location. Lovely touches such as flowers on the the table, wine in the fridge, scones, milk, bread etc. The house is in a great location near the Zoo, Trenance Gardens and easy walking distance to the town and beach, only negative is that it could do with one more bathroom especially for a large family or group staying.

We have just returned from a great week at Swallowtails. The location is excellent for access to Newquay town and the house is spacious and very well equipped. The owner Pete met us on arrival and explained the details of the house. He had also provided tea, milk, bread and a delicious cream tea- which went down a treat! Very thoughtful! The garden was a bonus which the children enjoyed. Ample parking as well- we had three cars and there was plenty of room.

Large house in a lovely location

When we arrived at the house we were pleasently suprised by the size of it! The lounge was large and spacious, as were the kitchen and garden.
The house is fully equipped with all the mod-cons you'd want, including a microwave, dishwashers and Sky Plus! All the bedroom's had their own TV's too.
The bathroom upstairs contained a power shower and jacuzzi bath which we enjoyed a lot.
The whole house was very clean and easily big enough for the eight of us to stay there without getting under eachothers feet.
Lastly, we were very lucky to have amazing weather when we stayed there so we made a lot of use of the garden and BBQ that was provided. There was a little seating area with a heater and there are deck chairs and body boards in the shed which we took to the beach.
Overall we were very happy with the house, it was better than we expected and all eight of us agreed we'd be happy to go back in the winter just to spend another week in the house!
(Also the position of the house was very good. An easy 5 minute walk to the edge of town and only 10 minutes from the beach and town centre. We also drove to Fistral a few times which took less than 10 minutes).


Large well equipped house, everything you would need, great location

Big, spacious and well equipped. Home from home. Would benefit from an outside tap for easier washing of wetsuits. ?A 10 minute walk from town and that was with children in tow, fantastic bonus to have Wifi and Sky as it kept tired children happy when they had a busy day at the beach. ?Good sized garden with BBQ which was used by us on a couple of occasions. ?All in all a good venue if wanting to go away with friends.

A lovely holiday home in a lovely area. Felt like home from home. Enjoyed all aspects of our stay. Ideal for an extended family as the large house affords very spacious accomodation, with two kitchens preventing any meal time compromises. Very highly recommended.
